Mumbai: ‘The only way to have a friend is to be one’ said Ralph Waldo Emerson.  It is to celebrate this very emotion and relationship, which is valued by millions across the globe, that Barista Lavazza, the pioneer of the café culture in India, has yet again brought together their annual event – The Friendship Jam, 2013. Having celebrated the journey of friendship for over five years now, when they first launched the Friendship Jam in 2008, Barista Lavazza has always been known to create special experiences for their patrons.

Recognising the importance of the Friendship Day in the life of its patrons, Barista Lavazza is yet again giving its patrons an opportunity to connect and bind over music. Beginning July 17, 2013 and to be organized across Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata, the event will invite entries from guests and their friends to participate in a music competition. Planned as a simple acoustic singing competition, the event will invite bands / individuals to play the guitar (compulsory) and sing a song of their choice, in any language or genre. Top performing and shortlisted bands from each of the four cities, will then get to compete in the finals in their respective cities. One winner from each city will win a Barista Lavazza gift hamper and 1 year supply of free coffee, along with the signature Barista Lavazza guitar.

Taking the success of the last year forward, this year too Barista Lavazza has engaged Celebrity bands in each of these cities to judge the finalists and perform LIVE on the day of the finals. In Delhi – The Underknowns; in Kolkata – Prithibi; in Bangalore – The Chronic Blues and in Mumbai – What’s in the name, will be the celebrity bands who will not only judge but also perform in a Barista Lavazza café.
