  • Belgian man taken into custody for Paris attacks

    A Belgian man has been taken into custody as part of the investigation into the 2015 Paris attacks.

    Local media reported the man has been charged with being involved in the acquisition of the Kalashnikov assault rifles used in the attacks.

    Belgian federal prosecutors today said that the person, identified as Mohamed  E. was detained on Christmas Eve.

    Coordinated shootings and bomb blasts in Paris in November 2015 killed 130 people.

    The Islamic State had claimed responsibility for the attacks, the deadliest on French soil since World War Two.
