One of the highlights is an elegant alabaster mantle clock (lot 23, image attached) with an eight-day mechanical movement, made by the renowned French maker, Japy Freres. It has been sourced from a private collection in Bangalore.

Another striking work in the sale is a Sitzendorf porcelain figural centerpiece (lot 35, image attached); the bowl encrusted with flowers raised over a foliate stem with courting shepherd and shepherdess flanked by sheep and being watched by cupid, on a floral encrusted rococo base. Dated circa 1900, the work is estimated between Rs 75,000 – 1,00,000 only.

Also included in this sale is a late 19th century Rajasthani silver ewer and basin (lot 128, image attached) which has been intricately chased and incised with relief work depicting elephants and horses. With a weight of 673 gms, the estimate is Rs 90,000 – 1,20,000 and it is one of the many other equally important works of Silver (lots 118-151) in the catalogue such as the Indian silver ceremonial “ittardan” from Rajasthan, dated circa 1910 (lot 143, image attached) and estimated Rs 2,25,000 – 2,75,000.

It is also worth mentioning about the Glass & Lighting lots; a fine pink Venetian vase (lot 154, image attached), hand painted in enamel with flower and profuse decoration in gold throughout with an estimate of Rs 24,000 – 30,000 and lot 209 (image attachedt) which is a set of four green art nouveau (Sabino) frosted wall light shades with floral pattern, with brass fittings, dated circa 1920’s and estimated between Rs 60,000 – 80,000.
