Bihar: Birender Singh inaugurates SAIL’s steel processing unit at Bettia

In Bihar, Steel Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh today inaugurated SAIL’s steel processing unit at Bettia in West Champaran district. At present, Steel Authority of lndia Ltd (SAIL) manufactures steel pipes at the unit.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said development of Bihar will be further stepped up and job opportunities will provided. He said plans are on the anvil to increase the product mix.
The foundation stone of the processing unit was laid in November 2007. The unit has one slitting line and two tube mills. One tube mill became operational on January 31, 2019, the second will become operational by February 28, 2019.
