GBREB traces its roots to 1889. Dermody additionally serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Realtors and the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. He is past president of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors (GBAR) and the Massachusetts Young Mortgage Bankers Association.

In addition, he spends time delivering “Traveling Meals” throughout the town. Dermody and his wife Cathy are parents to four children: Michael, Kristen, Caitlin, and Ryan. He and his family are active members of St. Joseph’s Church in Needham.

“I am honored to serve as the Chairman of the Board of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board,” Dermody said. “The influence of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board on advocacy and policy making in both the residential and commercial sectors of the industry, at this time when we face increased taxes and government controls makes my year, 2020, is vital to the profession.”
