Bangalore: Narayana Health today announced the launch of its premium birthing centre located on the 5th floor of Mazumdar Shaw Medical Center at NH Health City campus in Bommasandra, Bangalore. The birthing centre has been conceptualized to make the journey of pregnancy and child birth comfortable, memorable and a joyous experience for the mother and the family. Present on the occasion were Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Health along with senior consultants and specialist Gynaecologists and Neonatologists from the Institute for Women and Child as well as Pediatricians from different streams of specializations, Nurses and Paramedical staff specially trained in maternity and birthing care.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sunil Narayan, Facility Director, Mazumdar Shaw Medical Center at NH Health City, said, “Pregnancy and Birthing is an occasion to celebrate and is a very emotional experience for everyone in the family. Keeping this in mind, we have created the required ambiance and space that can be cherished by one and all.” The birth of a baby is a milestone in the lives of parents. “We will offer a one-time free pick-up and drop for members of the family from anywhere in Bangalore to visit the newborn baby and the family. This has been initiated by us as many friends and relatives will be eager to see the newborn baby at the hospital and may find it difficult to travel long distance.”

In order to demystify the myth that stand-alone birthing units are preferred to multispeciality hospitals, Mr. Narayan said, “We have taken all the efforts to understand the needs of the mother and the baby and will offer compassionate care with the expertise of trained staff and specialist doctors. The Birthing Centre at NH Health City is a separate section dedicated to offering all the mother and child needs under one roof with no intrusion from patients and visitors coming for other treatments.”
