Kochi: Bodhini Trust, an NGO focused on online safety, body safety, healing, and wellness, has launched a campaign called ‘We Are With You.’ The campaign aims to foster a positive and secure online environment for mental wellness and support victims of sexual abuse.
The campaign was inaugurated by Malayalam movie director Jude Anthony at an event in Kochi. He emphasized that the campaign would empower abuse victims and praised Bodhini’s selfless efforts to help them. During the event, Jude Anthony unveiled resource materials prepared by Bodhini, covering topics such as digital wellness, better sleep, online safety rules, staying positive, and practicing gratitude.
As part of the campaign, Hon’ble Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque of the Kerala High Court launched a poster online detailing the rights of POCSO victims and displaying the helpline number for the Victim Rights Centre (VRC). Justice Mustaque highlighted the importance of such initiatives in helping children recover from abuse and live normal lives. He announced that the poster would be displayed in all state courts. Justice Mustaque, also the Executive Director of the Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KeLSA), stated that KeLSA fully supports Bodhini’s activities. Joshy John, Member Secretary of KeLSA, handed over the poster to Adv. Parvathy Sanjay from the VRC.
A booklet of FAQs on online safety, created with technical support from UNICEF, was also launched by R. Nishanthini IPS, DIG Thiruvananthapuram. The booklet addresses questions commonly asked by children and provides guidelines for safe and ethical internet use, as well as advice on maintaining mental health online.
Additionally, C. Balagopal, former Chairman of Federal Bank, launched a Bodhini brochure on cyber security awareness. Other notable attendees included Justice Shoba Annamma Eapen of the Kerala High Court, Kerala State Mediation and Conciliation Centre Director Jubiya A, Mary George, Salim Manavalan, Senior Psychiatrist Dr. C.J. John, and Dr. Sabin Vishwanath.
Following the inaugural session, a special awareness session for 450 ASHA workers was held. This session was organized in collaboration with Dr. Sakeena, District Medical Officer, Dr. Rohini, District Programme Manager of NHM, and Sajana, ASHA Coordinator.
