Proceedings in both the Houses of Parliament were again disrupted over several issues including Rafale aircraft deal. The Lok Sabha and rajya Sabha adjourned for the day.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narendra Singh Tomar responded that the Supreme Court has already settled the issue. He, however, maintained that the government is ready for a detailed discussion on the matter. As chaotic scenes continued, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House till tomorrow.
In the Rajya Sabha, Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad raised the Rafale issue, saying his party has given a privilege notice against the government for misleading both Parliament and the Supreme Court on the matter.
Responding to this, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said the notice is under his consideration as it pertains to a serious matter. Mr Azad was countered by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Goel, asserting that the government is willing to hold discussion on all matters, including Rafale. He accused the Opposition of running away from discussion. Amidst heated exchange between the treasury bench and opposition members, Mr Naidu adjourned the House.
