Haflong : Meritorious BPL students of  Dima Hasao district, and highest mark scorer in HSLC Exam 2019 awarded with cash in a solemn function jointly organized by DSS (DLM) Central Committee & DSS (DLM) Dima Hasao District Committee at Cultural Institute Hall, Haflong on Monday.

 

Dr Kripesh Ranjan Sarmah of Guwahati sponsored the Cash Award for 10 BPL students belonging to different communities when DSS CC and Dima Hasao District Committee sponsored for Highest Mark Scorer Miss Bandana Haflongbar amongst the Dimasas and one BPL student of Dima Hasao respectively.

In this connection a well attended public meeting was held with DSS President Sri Dinendra Thaosen  in the chair and was attended by DSS Dima Hasao District Committee President Sri Kalijoy Sengyung, JNH President Sri Dethang Naiding, Former MLA Samarjit Haflongbar, Dr Kripesh Ranjan Sarmah, President, Dima Hasao GBs Association Anil Kumar Daolagupu & DSU General Secretary Pramith Sengyung etc.

All the speakers lauded Dr Kripesh Ranjan Sarmah for his noble job of sponsoring the Cash award for BPL students who has been sponsoring for the 3^rd consecutive years.

DSS Dima Hasao District Committee President Sri Kalijoy Sengyung explained the objective of the programme, while Sri Kumud Ranjan Kemprai gave a vote of thanks to the dignitaries and participants of the programme.

Dr Kripesh Ranjan Sarmah talking to the media disclosed that he would continue to sponsor in future also as long as he could since he felt very happy to sponsor the meritorious students particularly from financially weak families. His aim for sponsoring the cash award was to encourage these meritorious students to pursue their studies without any hindrances.

 

Earlier, all the dignitaries were felicitated with Risa by the members of the Dimasa Sahitya Sabha as a token regards.
