British Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday expressed his admiration and respect for the Indian community in the United Kingdom in his message for Diwali, which he said offers a sense of optimism and togetherness.

In a video message released from Downing Street on Twitter, Mr Johnson noted that Diwali represents the victory of light over darkness. It reminds us that we must do all we can together to ensure the triumph of good over evil and of knowledge over ignorance, he said.
