BSE Sensex recovers 183 points in opening trade

The BSE benchmark Sensex today recovered by over 183 points in the opening trade. It was trading at 19,286, up by over 89 points a short while ago. Analysts said the gain in Sensex is due to selective buying by funds and a firm trend on the other Asian bourses.

In the Asian region, the Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up by 0.89 per cent, while Japanese Nikkei gained 0.51 per cent in the morning trade today.

The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.30 per cent higher in Tuesday’s trade.
