    Kokrajhar: The two days budget session of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Legislative Assembly concluded today. On the concluding day, the Vote on Accounts budget of the  amounting Rs. 56,904.407 lakh estimate of expenditure for vote on account required for the months of April to July 2020 was unanimously passed in House.

    Executive Member Doneswar Goyary, on  behalf  of the chief executive member Hagrama Mohilary, in-charge of Finance department, Tuesday presented the Vote on Account budget amounting to Rs. 56,904.407 lakh.

    The House also passed the Bodoland Territorial Council Excise Bill, 2019. Earlier the Speaker Tridiv Daimary announced the names of the members of the Panel of Chairmen under Rule 9 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in BTC.

    The budget session is the last session of the present government in the Bodoland Territorial Council as the Council election is scheduled in April-May 2020.

    Executive member Lwmsrao Daimary on behalf of the ruling party delivered thanksgiving speech in the House thanking the elected representative, both ruling and opposition members for playing proactive role and extending positive role for the greater interest of the development of council.

    He said there had been no experience of indecency, abuse, throwing of chair or other forms of rogue behaviour by the opposition MCLAs in the last fifteen years that implies the smooth functioning of the BPF led BTC government and sympathetic approach of the opposition bench in implementing various policies and projects.

    On behalf of the opposition party, Jyatirindra Brahma said that the last five years, they played the role of positive opposition for the greater interest of the implementation of developmental schemes of the region. He said the council administration had certain shortcomings which should be taken as a lesson for rectification. He wished that they will come back and meet together after the council general election.

    BTC Speaker Tridiv Daimary also expressed his thanks and gratitude to all the members in the House including the Assembly officials and staffs for extending hel and cooperation in smooth running of the Assembly Session in the last 5 years of his tenure as a Speaker of BTC Legislative Assembly.

     The BTC chief and his deputy Kampa Borgoyary, remain conspicuous by their absence during the two days Session in the House.
