  • International English language teaching and learning conglomerate, Burlington English conducted a reading programme at Mayo College to promote creativity and critical thinking skills. The deep tech company, known for designing and delivering customised English language teaching and learning solutions with a focus on collaboration, critical thinking, multilingualism, and other 21st century skills, introduced its Burlington English Reading Programme to enhance learners’ ability to read challenging texts competently and help students with academic and professional success in their lives. The students got access to an impressive selection of carefully graded readers, providing a compelling reading experience. They also took part in the closed-group interactive sessions designed to hone their language skills, become conscious, independent readers, and develop an appetite for life-long learning.

“A scintillating programme for my Boys—more pertinent now than ever before because of the Pandemic’s ennui and fatigue. This has completely energised the students, given them something to look forward to, and feel the aftershocks for a long time. It brings books to the fore when our lives seem to be inundated by this huge Digital Wave. I’m sure once my students immerse in Books, it’ll not only be cathartic but also stir their imagination and intellect”, said Mr Sanjay Khati, Head – Department of English, Mayo College.

Mr Ratnesh Jha, CEO of Burlington Group Southeast Asia & India, says, “The Classics are forever. Exploring such beloved titles as Pride and Prejudice and Mansfield Park will open the learners’ minds to the richness of the English language and a world of culture and wonder that is sure to spark further curiosity in their minds. We want to create a thirst for learning through reading these evergreen stories.”
