Burzin Daver Launches Aircraft Interior Finishing Centre

One major step for LAT under the guidance of Mr. Burzin Daver, is the slated opening of a new Aircraft refurbishment facility called LAT Aircraft Maintainance. The proposed facility is set to open in Mumbai, offering domestic airlines the first-of-its-kind opportunity to restore their cabins parts in India. The facility is being given the final touches by the team which can save thousands in terms of foreign exchange for domestic airlines. Until now, most of the cabin part refurbishment activities were happening overseas.

What is LAT, and how is it a pioneer in the Indian aviation industry? Mr. Burzin Daver has the perfect answer to the question. LAT is his latest addition to a portfolio of being a leading aviation service provider in India. LAT Maintenance is a center that is going to specializes in aircraft cabin refurbishment. The facility has received the green signal from the Director-General of Civil Aviation, India. The key areas of operations will be restoring cabin parts, including passenger seats, tables, seat covers, carpets and stitching, shrouds, fairings, and more. LAT has been built and equipped with state-of-art facilities to repair about ten thousand parts each month. As a result, the Group is looking at comfortably meeting the refurbishment needs of the domestic aviation industry, helping the airlines cut down considerably on their foreign exchange spending annually. It is pertinent to highlight here that due to the lack of world-class refurbishment facilities in India, most airliners are compelled to fly their aircraft abroad for repair and servicing.

While LAT is still to be officially inaugurated and the shop floor opened to start maintenance work, it is ensured that the new facility is equipped with the latest technology and equipment to fulfill the requirements of the aviation sector comprehensively. The facility-rich center has an automatic spray paint boot installed for the final painting work on the cabin parts, giving them the best look and finish. Mr.Daver also informed that LAT has already signed a long-term agreement with India’s premier airline company, AIR INDIA, besides signing the same with many other key domestic airline companies. The wide-body aircraft of AIR INDIA will be repaired and serviced at LATby a team of highly experienced and knowledgeable technicians and engineers. The agreement with AIR INDIA also includes a cabin upgrade program that will be one-hundred percent covered. As part of the cabin upgradation program, AIR INDIA aims to refurbish all its aircraft carpets periodically.
