A bus accident in Ecuador killed at least 36 people and injured 12 more, including six children, when the buss fell off a cliff, local police said on Sunday.

The accident occurred on Sunday early morning in La Delicia zone, 95 kilometers south to Quito.

Apparently the bus drivers, who died, lost the vehicle’s control and went off the line falling over the cliff, according to the first reports.

Police said at least 12 people are badly injured. The cause is under investigation.

The bus was traveling from Cuenca to Quito and it belonged to the transport company Turismo Oriental.

The local police said to the moment the deaths and injured people have not been identified yet.
