Government has given its approval for over 8 thousand 6 hundred crore rupees of Highway projects in Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the six laning of Chakeri-Allahabad section of NH-2 in Uttar Pradesh. It has also approved six-laning of Handia-Varanasi section of NH-2 in Uttar Pradesh.
Approval was also given for six-laning of Baleshwar-Chandikhole section of NH-5 in Odisha and the development of four to six laning of the Raipur-Bilaspur section of NH-30/NH-130 in Chhattisgarh.
The work for these approved road projects will be under National Highways Development Project Phase Five.
In another decision Government also okayed a subsidy on export of up to 1.4 million tons of raw sugar in the ongoing 2014-15 marketing year.
