Ahmedabad : Early childhood experience in school always keep a good memory in children’s future. It also helps in shaping the attitude towards basic education. In rural areas and suburban towns, parents still face hardships to send their children for basic education. To help reduce that burden from parents, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, one of the oldest and largest privately held drug companies in the country, distributed 3,100 school bags among young children as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The school bags were distributed in three districts viz. Ahmedabad, Mehsana and Bharuch in 50+ schools as a part of the Shala Praveshotsav, the annual school enrolment drive undertaken by the state government to maximize school enrolment. Shala Praveshotsav campaign was initiated by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi in 2003, then Chief Minister of Gujarat and being taken forward by Hon’ble Gujarat CM Shri Bhupendra Patel. The little children were overjoyed on receiving the beautifully designed schoolbags.
“At Cadila Pharmaceuticals, we support various initiatives related to healthcare, education, employment generation, women empowerment, etc. The Shala Praveshotsav campaign has played an important role in increasing school enrolment rates in Gujarat over the past 20 years, and we are very happy to support it,” said Dr. Bharat Champaneria, Trustee at Indrashil Kaka-Ba and Kala Budh Public Charitable Trust, the charitable arm of Cadila Pharmaceuticals.
