Golaghat : Reinforcing its ongoing commitment to strengthening the primary healthcare in remote communities, Cairn Oil & Gas, a part of the Vedanta Group, organised a free Community Health Camp at the Hazarigaon in Golaghat district. The initiative forms part of Cairn’s wider CSR efforts to improve access to essential healthcare services for rural populations across Assam.
The camp offered free health check-ups, consultations, and essential medicines to residents from nearby villages. A team of qualified doctors and medical professionals from Jorhat Medical College & Hospital attended to over 120 local villagers, addressing common ailments, raising awareness on preventive health, and guiding them on early diagnosis.
This Medical Camp is the latest in a series of community health initiatives organised by Cairn in Assam, following successful camps held earlier this year in Agchamua and Gharpalia-Maibalia villages. The company remains committed to expanding healthcare access in areas where medical facilities are limited and essential services remain difficult to reach.
Speaking at the camp, Dr. Madhavjyoti Bora (Medicine + Cardiologist), one of the attending physicians, said, “For many families here, travelling to a hospital requires time and expenses they simply cannot afford. Camps like this bring healthcare to their doorstep. Early treatment and accurate diagnosis can prevent complications, and this outreach is making a genuine difference.”
Pranab Saikia, a local villager, shared, “We rarely get the chance to consult a doctor without spending an entire day travelling. Today, we received check-ups and medicines right here. This is a huge relief for people like us.”
Cairn’s healthcare initiatives continue to focus on preventive care, early intervention, and grassroots-level awareness – strengthening rural health ecosystems across its areas of operation and contributing to a healthier, more inclusive future.
