At least five people were killed and 25 injured in a suicide car bomb blast in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan today. Reports quoting provincial officials said the attack took place at Chowk-e-Shahidan area of the city this morning.

The suicide bomber blew up his explosives when the Police stopped him at a check point near a bank branch in Kandahar city. Most of the casualties are Afghan civilians. There is no immediate claim of responsibility of the car bomb blast.
