NAGAON : Based on a complaint by a victim, Nagaon town police in association with Puranigudam Outpost police, arrested four fraudsters from various places of the district last night. According to sources, the arrested fraudsters have been identified as Bhabesh Kalindi, Bikram Kalindi of Amoni under Samaguri PS, Shahidul Islam alias Bablu and Nashar Wahid under Rupahihat PS.

The gang of those four fraudsters identified themselves as officers of state medical department and spread net to entrap some unemployed youths to be appointed in governmental jobs under medical department by collecting huge ransom money from many, sources claimed. The sources however said that being suspicious on their activities, one of such victim youth from Samaguri area recently registered an FIR against the entire gang in Nagaon PS. Chasing the investigation, Nagaon town police spread a specific net to entrap the same and finally got the breakthrough.

The sources claimed that one of those fraudsters was called to collect the final installment of their ransom from the victim and when the prime accused came to collect the money, he was caught red-handed and the other three of the gang were picked up subsequently later on the night itself.
