CBI has approached Interpol seeking Red Corner Notice against diamond merchant Nirav Modi. The red corner notice is the closest instrument to an international arrest warrant. Recently, the agency had filed charge sheets against Nirav Modi and others in the Punjab National Bank fraud case.

In January, Nirav Modi had flown out of the country before the bank lodged a complaint with CBI and ED seeking action against him and others in connection with the 13,578-crore rupees bank fraud.
