Celebration of World Bicycle Day as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

 GUWAHATI : As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India has decided to celebrate World Bicycle Day on 3rd June 2022 in all over India. Accordingly, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Assam is organizing Bicycle Rally in all 27 districts of Assam and centrally in two places at Guwahati, i.e. Kamakhya Temple Gate(Foothills) and Veterinary Field Khanapara. The Iconic Venue Bicycle rally will start from Kamakhya Temple Gate(Foothills) and will be culminated at Latasil Playground.

The State Level Rally will start from Veterinary Field Khanapara and pass through Basistha Chariali and will culminate at Sarusajai Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai. Smt. Queen Oja, MP, Guwahati Lok Sabha will Flag Off the Iconic Venue Rally at Kamakhya Temple Gate(Foothills) and Shri Jayant Narlikar, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Sports & Youth Welfare, Govt of Assam will flag off the State Capital Rally at Veterinary Field, Khanapara . Both the Rallies will be Flag Off simultaneously on 3 rd June 2022 at 6.00 am morning where 75 Cyclists in each venue will cover a distance of approx. 7.5 km. This programme is being organized in order to minimize the use of Motor Vehicle and to create a pollution free environment along with the motive of popularizing physical fitness among the citizens of India. The Motto of World Bicycle Day is " Save the planet. Ride a cycle." Pedal your way to Fitness".
