    territories include Assam (affected by floods during 2017-18), Himachal Pradesh (affected by floods/ landslides during 2017-18), Sikkim (affected by floods/ landslides during 2017-18), Lakshadweep (affected by cyclone Ockhi during 2017) and Rajasthan (affected by kharif drought during 2017).The central government Monday sanctioned Rs 480.87 crore as flood relief for Assam to meet up with damages suffered in the deluge last year. The Home Ministry approved a total of Rs 1,161.17 crore calamity relief for four states States — Rajasthan, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim — and the Union Territory of Lakshwadeep. The calamity relief was approved by a high-level committee headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh. According to a notification issued by the Home Ministry, Rajasthan will get an amount of Rs 526.14 crore as drought relief, Assam will get Rs 480.87 crore to compensate flood damages, Himachal Pradesh Rs 84.60 crore for floods and landslides, Rs 67.40 crore for Sikkim for floods and landslides and Rs 2.16 crore approved for Lakshwadeep as relief for damages suffered during cyclone Ockhi.The meeting was also attended by Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh along with other senior officials of the ministries of Home, Finance and Agriculture.
