Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region has sanctioned 338 developmental projects for the region in the last three years.

The approved cost of these projects is over 3487 crore rupees under Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources.

According to Ministry sources, out of the total number of projects, completion is delayed in 129 due to delay in utilization of funds by state governments, which is the implementing authority.

Slow execution of work, law and order concerns in some areas and difficult terrain of the region are some other factors for the delay.
