This was the first batch of students from Government schools of Maharashtra to reach Level 2 of the training module and undertaking the training since the launch of Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Vocationalisation of Higher Secondary Education (NSQF) in Maharashtra. The 120-hour intensive training was organized in various restaurants and hotels from Pune, Kolhapur, Chikhalthan, Mangalur Navghare, Tajabad, Nagpur, Padali, Buldana and Osmanabad.

The training was done in association with Maharashtra Tourism, Sona Tourism, Handa Travel Group, Residency Club, Raj Tour and Travels, Laxmi Tour and Travels and Hotel Pushpak Park.

The students gained hands-on experience – from handling back-end functioning of a hotel to managing real life hotel challenges and opportunities and understanding leisure and corporate travel operations; travel documentation and above all, practical skills learning and self-development.

Speaking about the training, Sanjay Bahl, Managing Director & CEO, Centum Learning said, “We are overwhelmed with the response and interest with which the students participated in the training sessions. With experience spanning over a decade, Centum is always on a continuous journey to improvise and evolve in the training space. We are aggressively working with both the central & state ministries by participating in their skilling programs and collectively working with the complete ecosystem to create opportunities which will positively impact the future employment prospects for our youth.”

Centum Learning is spearheading the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Vocatioanlization of Higher Secondary Education (NSQF) in India where it has already skilled more than 1.5 Lakh students. NSQF in India was notified in 2013. Under NSQF, the youth can acquire certification for competency needed at any level through formal, non-formal or informal learning. In that sense, the NSQF is a quality assurance framework. Presently, more than 100 countries have, or are in the process of developing national qualification frameworks.
