  • Chaat puja celebrated with full flavor at river ghats of Jorhat

    Jorhat Along with the rest of the country in Jorhat too Chaat Puja was kicked off from early evening hours on Tuesday at various ghats (river banks) along Bhogdoi, Puthi, Kakodunga, Jhanji, Charaipani, including Neematighat in the city itself the festival of Sun God being celebrated at 10 different venues at both the banks of river Bhogdoi at Goromur Pujadubi, Bhogdoi ghat, Bhogdoi AT Road ghat, Bhogdoi Mariani Dhudor Ali ghat, Titabor Charaipani ghat, Kakodunga AT Road ghat, Kakodunga Titabor etc. are the places where celebration is at its peak as devotees from states like Bihar, Up[ living in Jorhat were witness thronging to their respective ghats where fruits like sugarcane, banana, coconut along with other religious items are kept beside the bank of the various rivers where festival has been organized. For the night even religious cultural shows and various competitions are organized on the great occasion that is to continue till sun rises in the morning, said Rajkumar Mishra, the organizing secretary of Hindustani Yuwa Samaj, Jorhat here today.
