India’s second lunar probe Chandrayaan-2 is set to move towards the moon after leaving the earth’s orbit, with the Indian Space Research Organization planning to carry out a crucial manoeuvre early tomorrow morning. ISRO has said it will carry out the manoeuvre called Trans Lunar Insertion at around 3.30 A.M. IST.

Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft is expected to reach the moon’s orbit on 20th of August. On the 7th September, its lander is expected to soft-land on the south pole of the moon and unleash the rover to explore the surface. The ISRO has so far performed five earth-bound orbit raising manoeuvres.
