Choose Army as your carrier, GOC calls upon students at APS –Jorhat

Jorhat : The Army celebrated the spirit of Independence Day at APS Jorhat on the eve of the 72ndIndependence day on 14 Aug 2018 by organizing a ‘Know Our Forces Mela’. The event was Inaugurated by Brig MC Pant, Deputy GoC who is also The Station Commander, Hq 41 Sub-Area of the Jorhat Military Station who called upon the students fraternity to take the opportunity to join the Indian Army which is best to choose as an carrier. Brig Pant inspected the various display which encompassed the latest weapons to include, the specialist weapons of Para Commandos, Dog show by Army Dog Unit And Artillery Guns which were of attraction for the children among Indian made 105/37 light field gun E2 which has maximum range of 17200 meters with maximum range 2000 meters which weight is 2380 kgs, along with 825 ASC Battalion Air Maintenance, were stalls for attraction during the day, said officials from APS here today.

APS -Official further said that the popularity could be gauged by the huge influx of school children and parents to witness the mela, despite capricious weather conditions. The event was Instrumental in igniting the spirit of Patriotism and Nationalistic pride in the heart and minds of the students of Army Public School, Jorhat. Earlier during the inaugural ceremony a patriotic dance programme was performed by the students from APS which was guided by noted choreographers Priyam Baruah, Moreover along with the chairman of the APS Brig Pant, the principal Ms Yasmin Kaur Bains among Diganta Handique, Rajen Borah, Tapos Chanda were among to have escorted the invited guest and invitees during the days programme that was celebrated on the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day here.
