    “Cleanness Seri-Eco Model Village” adopted by Sericulture dept, BTC

    Kokrajhar : The department of Sericulture, BTC in association with AXIS Bank, Kokrajhar branch has adopted Kumguri and Pundibari village as “Cleanness Seri-Eco Model Village” with an objectives to make awareness about the hygienic, cleanness, health care, income generation among the rural populace and promote the two villages as cleanness seri-eco model villages.

    BTC Additional Principal Secretary Robinson Mushahary inaugurated the Pundibari village while Dr BK Handique from North Eastern Space Application Centre and Dr VK Rahmathulla from Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India, Bangaluru inaugurated the Kumguri model village.

    Dr A sanitation drive was carried out in the two villages where the local villagers participated.

    Director of Sericulture, BTC Dr Jogesh Deuri said the two villages were adopted as “Cleanness Seri-Eco Model Village” with an objectives to make awareness about the hygienic, cleanness, health care, income generation among the rural populace and promote the two villages as cleanness seri-eco model villages in BTC.

    Seminar on ‘Application of remote sensing  & GIS

    A one day workshop on ‘Application of remote sensing & geographic information system (GIS) and geo tagging in Sericulture development in BTC was held at the Conference Hall of BTC Secretariat in Kokrajhar.

    Organised by the Department of Sericulture, BTC in association with North Eastern Space Application Centre, Shillong, Dr PLN Raju, Director of North Eastern Space Application Centre  & Project Director (Sericulture Project attended the workshop as chief guest and addressed the gathering. Dr BK Handique, Project Coordinator (Sericulture Project) gave the objective an overview of the programme.

    Dr VK Rahmathulla from Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India, Bangaluru, BTC Principal Secretary Diren Chandra Phukan, Additional Principal Secretary Robinson Muhahary also spoke on the occasion.

    Director of Sericulture, BTC Dr Jogesh Deuri gave the welcome address.

    The expert also interacted with filed functional officials of BTC on application of Geo-tagging, remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS).
