Bangalore – In celebration of National Technology Day, CMR Institute of Technology proudly hosted Techno-Meet for Society 2024 a dynamic exhibition that brought together over 100 innovative projects from both students and faculty members. The event, inaugurated by Dr. Sanjay Jain, Principal, CMRIT, and Vice Principal Dr. B. Narasimha Murthy, the event has shown participation from department heads. The event served as a platform to showcase groundbreaking solutions across a spectrum of fields, including robotics, rural technology, and water purification, all aimed at addressing pressing societal challenges.
The exhibition featured a plethora of standout innovations, including a solar-powered robot, AI-enhanced sericulture tools, a Bluetooth-controlled robot, and advanced water purification devices, alongside aids for the visually impaired. Notably, one of the highlights was the fetal movement detection system presented by Rohan and his team from the first-year AIML course, designed to monitor vital parameters in unborn children. The exhibition also featured a novel project titled “Fitness through Gaming: Enabling Physical Activities in Computer/Mobile Games through Gestures.” This initiative enables individuals including the one with physical disabilities to actively engage in gaming by incorporating gestures that simulate physical movements. Additionally, Ms. Monika, a final year Electronics student, unveiled an air purifier capable of effectively filtering micro dust particles, offering a solution to air pollution concerns.
Dr. K.C. Ramamurthy,IPS (Retd) Former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Chairman CMR University and CMR Group of Institutions, emphasized the significance of such initiatives, stating, “This exhibition not only underscores our dedication to technological advancement but also nurtures our students to become innovative leaders who will spearhead societal progress, aligning with the ethos of National Technology Day.”
The event drew praise from industry representatives such as Mr. Satheesh Shamanna from Accenture, who commended the students’ ingenuity, highlighting the exhibition’s role as a crucial platform for professional feedback and development. With over 20 startups currently being incubated and numerous projects awaiting patent approval, CMR Institute of Technology continues to shine as a beacon of innovation and practical application, making positive strides across sectors including healthcare and agriculture.
