  • Commercial vehicle employees sensitised on new (Amended) MV Act in Assam’s Darrang District

    Mangaldai  : Senior police and enforcement official, office bearers of bus owners association, motor vehicle labour union leaders and media person on Wednesday have interacted with the drivers, conductors and handimen of the commercial passenger vehicles. Darrang Police has organized a sensitize programme about the  Amended MV Act 2019 here at the office of the Darrang- Kamrup-Nalbari Bus Owners’ Association close to Bhebarghat public bus station. Participating in the discussion DSP (HQ), Darrang Mamoni Hazarika, Enforcement Inspector of the Darrang Transport Department Dipak Patowary, Officer in charge of Mangaldai Sadar Police Station Traffic Branch Gokul Deka, Munin Dutta, journalist Mayukh Goswami, Rahul Ali and Haren Deka of the Motor Vehicle Labour Union underlined many relevant matters including the various penal provisions of the MV Act (Amended), 2019, prohibition of liquor and mobile phones during driving, speed limit,  reducing traffic congestion by maintaining proper parking norms, obeying traffic rules to reduce road mishaps, obtaining necessary licences by both the drivers and conductors wearing uniforms and improving interpersonal relationship among the vehicle employees with officials from police, transport department and passengers among others.
