New Delhi : One97 Communications Ltd. bagged the IndiaMART Leader of Tomorrow Award in IT/ITES/Telecom category and was also declared the Company of the Year at IndiaMART Leaders of Tomorrow Awards 2010 Ceremony held in New Delhi recently. The chief guest at the Awards Ceremony, Honourable Union Minister for Home Affairs Mr. P. Chidambaram congratulated and felicitated Mr. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, One97 Communications Ltd. for his achievements. With the passion to succeed coupled with sharp business acumen, Mr. Sharma has steered the company to towering heights. Placed on a strong growth trajectory, the company is all set to launch its own Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the year 2011.

Mr. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, aged 31, is the Chairman and Managing Director of One97 Communications Ltd. He has more than ten years of experience in the telecom and new media industries. He started his first venture ‘XS Corps’ while he was at college, which he sold to Lotus Interworks, LLC, New Jersey in 1999. Prior to founding the company in 2000, Mr. Sharma played key roles in a number of organisations such as Riverrun Software Services Group Limited, Inter Solutions Software Private Limited and Startec Global Communications Limited. His focus was on the design and development of various products and applications for technology, media and telecom industries. He holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering.
