  • CONCORD 2021- Heritage Law College induction and orientation programme for the new batch of students commenced today

    CONCORD – the induction and orientation programme of the new batch of BALLB students of Heritage Law College Kolkata commenced on 5th August. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Pratap Kumar Ray, Former Acting Chief Justice, Calcutta High Court as the Chief Guest along with Mr. Shourya Mandal and Mr. Sumit Dhar, Partners, Fox & Mandal, LLP as the Guests of Honour  for the programme. The programme also witnessed the presence of Shri Sajan Kumar Bansal, Vice Chairman, Heritage Law College and Trustee, KBT, Prof. Basab Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology and Senior Director- Higher Education, Heritage Group of Institutions , Shri P.K.Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, Prof. S.S.Chatterjee, Principal, Heritage Law College and Prof. K.K.Chaudhuri, Director, Heritage Business School. During the inaugural address, Prof. S.S.Chatterjee spoke about the various career opportunities Heritage Law College offers to its students. Prof. Basab Chaudhuri gave a brief description of how the subject legal studies came into India and how Calcutta University framed this integrated programme to give the best value additions to its students in various affiliated colleges. Shri Sajan Kumar Bansal spoke about the necessity of legal studies in today’s world since everyone should know their constitutional rights and should be aware of them. Hon’ble Justice Pratap Kumar Ray focused on the various career opportunities available for a law graduate and how legal studies is interrelated with various fields of study.  Mr. Shourya Mandal and Mr. Sumit Dhar from Fox & Mandal LLP  appreciated the way Heritage has come up with a variety of career oriented courses from cradle to career. They also gave a practical insight to legal education and how it is changing during the pandemic.

More than 100 students, teachers, staff, well-wishers and parents attended the programme virtually which marked an important event in the history of Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata.
