  • Congress plenary begins today

    The Congress Party will hold a three day Plenary at Burari in New Delhi from Saturday when leaders are expected to discuss on various issues before the party.

    The Plenary is important as it will decide the strategy ahead for the party with 2011 scheduled to have elections to the assemblies of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Assam and West Bengal, while some other states including BJP-ruled Gujarat.

    Tomorrow will be the meeting of the Subject Committee which will finalise the draft resolutions that would come up before meet.

    The Plenary is the third such meet since Sonia Gandhi took over the stewardship of the party in 1998.

    It will be the 83rd session of the Party being held in the 125thyear of its existence.

    It will adopt resolutions on political, economic situation and international issues.
