Gujarat:H. E. Ms. Orna Sagiv, Consul General of Israel, Mumbai visited Amul Dairy and Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. to understand the Amul model of cooperatives which is currently synonymous with White Revolution in the country.

Her Excellency had met Shri R. S. Sodhi, Incharge Managing Director, GCMMF and Shri Rahul Kumar, Managing Director, Amul Dairy. The Amul model of cooperative development was explained in detail to the dignitary.

Her Excellency was impressed by the large range of products developed and marketed by GCMMF. The Consul General was also overwhelmed by the presence of Amul products in the international market.

Her Excellency was briefed on the history of Amul and the role played by its founder Chairman Shri Tribhuvandas Patel and Dr. V Kurien, the father of the White Revolution on building this movement.

Ms. Sagiv expressed her keen interest to explore the possibility of collaboration between Amul and Israel. At the end of her visit she remarked “Very interesting and inspired! I am sure Amul will keep flourishing and growing!”
