Ladakh Commissioner Secretary Rigzin Samphel said, a Real-Time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR ) machine will be arriving to SNM Hospital, Leh-Ladakh for testing Covid-19 samples locally. He said, local Pathologists will be trained online with Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) before testing samples.

Similarly, the UT Administration also approved the purchase of a Three and half crore worth machinery and equipments for Kargil Distirct hospital. On the other hand, Mr. Rigzin Samphel said, the results of Three samples received yesterday from Delhi for Covid-19, were negative. With this, total number of Coronavirus positive cases in Ladakh is stable at 11.

In the meantime, Mr. Rigzin Samphel said, check posts restrengthened at bordering Durbuk to prevent labourers of GREF entering villages. He said, 32 students came from outside Ladakh are quarantined at Ragyul in Kargil district. He also said, Fumigation, sanitization and awareness campaigns are going on at various places in the region
