CSR Initiative by Dr Meenu Kumar’s Cos We Care NGO

The Covid 19 pandemic has indeed shownan extraordinary force of nature and at the same time is an enormous testament of how humanity can redeem itself from the darkest of darkest times. During such an unprecedented crisis, the world had equipped itself with the digital medium for all the day to day work and engagements, including education.  However, this situation strikes a wrong chord with the economically backward children as they found it extremely onerous to buy a smart device. Nonetheless, education – online or offline is indispensable and therefore the issue needs to be addressed. With this in mind, Cos We Care, an NGO has initiated a distinctive drive which would involve the collection of electronic devices that are essential for students to keep a pace with their studies properly. For a crisis which does not seem to end anytime soon, it is a collective effort that would send relief to such kids.

Moreover, with the approaching festive seasons the drive has been envisaged as a way of giving back to the society and undertaking small acts of charity. Cos We Care is therefore, making arrangements by collecting pre-used mobiles, desktops and laptops to help such economically deprived secure their right to education. Anyway the purpose of such a drive is to gather devices lying around and make use of objects that are of no use to someone. An acknowledgement text from the children receiving a device would be shared with the contributor.

While commenting on this noble drive and the idea behind it, Dr.Meenu Kumar, the NGO’s founder says, “As the festival of lights, Diwali approaches, it reminds us of the great deeds of Lord Rama and evokes a sense of duty entrusted upon all us to fill each other’s life with happiness. Lending a helping hand to those who need it the most would bring a wave of joy to them and therefore this Diwali, illuminate the life of needy child. The smile on their faces and blessing in their heart will certainly add value and contentment to your conscience. Therefore, Cos We Care requests each and every individual to lend their valued contributions to spread light and joy in a child’s life.”

Cos We Care has already conducted similar drives which were undertaken successfully by many enthusiastic and passionate volunteers from VasantKunj, especially from B-Block RWA. So far, Cos We Care has efficiently collected gadgets from DLF Gurgaon and distributed it amongst the underprivileged children in the areas of Sikandarpur and Chakkarpur.  In another donation camp conducted in HarijanBastiVasantKunj, several pre-used clothes, blankets, toys and stationary items were collected from the residents of VasantKunj area.

Being an ongoing project, such drives require the shared effort of diligent and supportive volunteers to take care of collection and distribution of the items equitably. Anyone interested can enroll themselves as volunteer or may even contribute by simply donating their devices. Not to forget the astute sense of awareness present in the people making all the contribution, without whom the drives would never have been successful. Therefore, we are more than happy to acknowledge their invaluable contributions by issuing a certificate of recognition and also convey a message from the concerned beneficiary. In fact, the NGO’s official website would also reflect the names of all the contributors for appreciating their will to engage in such a noble activity. Cos We Care, truly cares for the upliftment of everyone and therefore would be thrilled to engage in any kind of help from your side in this drive for making online education accessible to all.
