MANGALDAI:: Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment and Petroleum & Natural Gas Rameswar Teli has vowed to transform aspirational district Darrang among the top few developed districts of the country. He was delivering his speech during the certificate distribution ceremony here at the district library auditorium on the final day of June 2 as a part of his two days visit to the district . “Darrang district is an aspirational district and this district has been made the focus of development initiatives.

The Prime Minister is endeavoring to double the farmer’s income. Our efforts are on to connect the area with the gas pipeline the benefits of which are to be enjoyed by the people soon. Our government is going to set up a Bio-ethanol plant where people will get employment. Moreover a mini food park project is being implemented which had been sanctioned when I was in the Food Processing ministry. It will also create employment avenues ” , Minister Teli said.

The Union Minister also stressed the need of developing the infrastructure of the Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve of the district to tap its huge tourism potential . He further stated that in coming days altogether seventy five ponds will be dug across all the districts in the state including Darrang under the Amrit Sarovar scheme. Later the Union Minister ceremonially began the process of handing over certificates and sanction letters to 750 beneficiaries of various government schemes under different departments befitting the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav . Mangaldai MLA Basanta Das, Sipajhar MLA Dr Paramananda Rajbangshi, Darrang Deputy Commissioner Pranab Kumar Sarmah, senior officers and district heads of various departments were present on the occasion. Earlier on the first day of his visit the minister had attended the valedictory function of the two day training programme for the laborers of the unorganized sectors organized by an agency under the Ministry of Labour and Employment here at the Sanatan Dharma Sabha.
