  • Day dreaming while working tunes brain

    Published on March 17, 2012

Researchers say, day dreaming while engaged in work, can increase your brain’s capability to hold lots of information. Scientists are of the view that mind wandering actually gives one’s working memory a workout.

The research study author Jonathan Smallwood of the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Science says working memory is the mental work space that allows the brain to juggle multiple thoughts simultaneously.

The more working memory a person has, the more daydreaming they can do without forgetting the task at hand.

The study was published in the journal Psychological Science.
