Gusbethi : Christmas Day was celebrated at Deepalaya School, Gusbethi (DSG). To mark the occasion through a special cultural programme arranged at the school premises.
The programme began at 10.30 AM with a welcome note by Mr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, Deepalaya School Gusbethi. Hereafter, students from various classes of DSG and Deepalaya Children’s Home depicted the birth of Jesus Christ through a nativity play; the 30-minute-long skit was filled with spectacular acting, dance, Hindi songs, voice-overs, etc.
Mr. A. J. Philip, Secretary and Chief Executive, Deepalaya emphasized on the importance of giving back to the society in his speech. “The spirit of Christmas upholds the idea of giving and gifting. It is necessary that our students grow up with a vision of giving back to the society, and become contributing citizens,” said Mr. Philip.
Befitting the occasion, songs like “Wish You A Merry Christmas” and “Jingle Bells” were played. Tiny tots of the school overjoyed the audience with their cute dance steps. One of the students dressed up as young Santa mingled with the rest of the children and distributed gifts. The function ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shiju Mammen, Administrator, Deepalaya School Gusbethi.
