  • In Maharashtra, Bollywood actors Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan left the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in Mumbai this evening after recording statements in the drugs probe linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The two were questioned at the NCB’s Zonal Office at Ballard Estate in South Mumbai.

NCB official said, Sara’s statement was recorded for around four and half hours while Shraddha left after nearly six hours. Both had worked with Sushant Singh Rajput in movies.

Earlier, actor Deepika Padukone was questioned by the NCB at a Guest House in south Mumbai where she recorded her statement.

Sources said Padukone was confronted with her Manager Karishma Prakash during questioning. Prakash was also allowed to go home after questioning.

The agency has arrested actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and some suspected drug peddlers in the case. Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in suburban Bandra on 14th of June.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone -I) Sangramsingh Nishandar requested media persons not to chase the vehicles of actors, who are appearing before the NCB, saying it can put their own lives as well those of others on the road in danger.

He said, if any vehicle is found chasing the actors’ vehicles, it will be seized and stern action will be taken against the driver.

Meanwhile, the NCB today arrested Dharma Productions’ Executive Producer Kshitij Ravi Prasad after questioning in a drugs case linked to Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. An official said Prasad was picked up by a team of NCB sleuths, led by its Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, from his residence in suburban Versova. He was questioned at the Ballard Estate office of the NCB yesterday.

The official added that after his arrest, Prasad was taken for medical tests, including for COVID-19, at hospital. Prasad’s name cropped up during the NCB’s wider probe.

On Friday, NCB had also questioned Dharma Productions’ Anubhav Chopra in relation with the drug-nexus in the Hindi film industry.

In a statement issued yesterday, Director-Producer Karan Johar said Prasad had joined Dharmatic Entertainment, sister concern of Dharma Productions, in November 2019 as one of the Executive Producers on a contract basis for a project, which eventually did not materialize. He added that Chopra was briefly associated with his banner as an Assistant Director and worked only on two projects.
