Delegate registrations for the 49th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will start from Monday evening. Speaking at a press conference in Panaji today, Rajendra Talak, vice chairman of the Entertainment Society of Goa, gave this information.

Mr Talak said, Cine enthusiasts and professionals may register on payment of 1,000 rupee, while students will be registered free of cost.
The opening ceremony of IFFI 2018 will be held on 20th November at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Bambolim near Panaji. The closing ceremony will be held on 28th November. The opening film will be screened at Kala Academy, Panaji.

Mr Talak informed that Israel will be the country focus and 6-7 films will be screened in this section, adding that 64 countries have confirmed participation in the cinema of the world section.The homage section will pay tribute to Late Shashi Kapoor and Late Sridevi, while Late Vinod Khanna will be remembered in a special retro section.

In a special sports section, 6-7 films on sports will be screened at the festival. In addition, Mr Talak informed that a special film section will be dedicated to the Kapoor family, covering Pritviraj Kapoor to Ranbir Kapoor.
