Delhi : Manipal Hospital Dwarka hosted a fashion show ‘Together We Thrive’ with aim to promote healthy eating habits among children and their parents, particularly focusing on those affected by celiac disease. In the event, kids were dressed up as different fruits and vegetables and emphasize at the importance of a gluten-free lifestyle. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder caused by gluten, causing damage to the small intestine. Symptoms include diarrhea, bloating, fatigue, and weight loss.
Dr. Sufla Saxena, Head of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Manipal Hospital Dwarka, highlights, “Understanding celiac disease is vital for early diagnosis and effective management. It impacts children’s growth and development significantly. By raising awareness, we can ensure better health outcomes and quality of life for those affected. A gluten-free diet is essential, and education is the first step towards achieving this.”
Speaking about the fashion show, Viji Varghese, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospital, Dwarka said, “Our goal is to encourage healthy eating habits among children, making it a fun and joyful experience.
