A Delhi court is hearing a fresh bail petition moved by cricketer Shanthakumaram Sreesanth, who has been arrested in connection with the spot-fixing scandal in the recently-concluded edition of the Indian Premier League.
Sreesanth’s lawyer moved the fresh bail application after Delhi Police invoked Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act against the cricketer.
Sreesanth’s Rajasthan Royals teammate Ankeet Chavan who was granted interim bail for a week by a sessions court to solemnise his marriage also moved a fresh bail application after being booked under stringent MCOCA.
The cricketers, along with other accused, are in judicial custody till 18th June.
