New Delhi : Celebrating the expression of freedom through music and motorcycling, Harley-Davidson India brought its annual music property Harley Rock Riders to New Delhi today. This year Harley Rock Riders-IV started its journey in Pune followed by roaring performances at Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Kochi before finally bringing the house down at Delhi. With electrifying performances by four indigenous Indian rock bands- The Incredible Mind Funk, Gravy Train, Barefaced Liar and The Circus, music and motorcycle enthusiasts’ experienced authentic Harley-Davidson lifestyle right here in Delhi.

Paying tribute to 110 years of freedom and joining the yearlong global celebrations of Harley-Davidson’s 110th anniversary, the theme for Harley Rock Riders Season IV is ‘FREEDOM’. Season IV also invites Indian Rock musicians of all experience levels a chance to express their freedom and participate in the “Find your Freedom” contest where the winner steals the glory by getting an opportunity to perform at the World’s biggest bike festival – European Bike Week, 2014 in Austria. The winner also bags the title of “Harley-Davidson India Band of the Year”. On 12th October 2013, Mumbai will stand witness to the grand finale where the “Freedom Contest” winners will be declared. 80 indigenous bands are already in the fray with the competition expected to intensify further as the D-Date approaches rapidly.

The show started at 8pm with a commanding performance by The Incredible Mind Funk. The tone was set and the mood upbeat as Gravy Train Barefaced Liar and The Circus energized the crowd at Hard Rock Café- Saket through their inspired performances. Harley Rock Riders gave fans a taste of the freedom that Harley-Davidson enthusiasts and owners live every day.

The Harley-Davidson culture is as much about its unique style as the motorcycles themselves and music forms an integral part of it.  Given the brand’s historic association with Rock & Roll and its legends, the company launched its annual music property – Harley Rock Riders in India in 2010, partnering with Rolling Stone India, to bring together motorcycling and music like never before.

The focus of this initiative is to inspire organic rock music culture in India by encouraging promising indigenous rock bands and providing them a unique platform to showcase their abundant talent.  On the back of the fantastic response received in Season I, II and III from rock music aficionados and Harley enthusiasts from across the country, this year the annual jamboree will travel across six cities in India starting from Pune and then travelling to Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Delhi and finally to Mumbai for the grand finale on 12th October, 2013.

Within just few years of its inception, Harley Rock Riders has earned the status of being one of the most awaited rock music events in the country earning widespread acknowledgement and respect from indigenous rock bands as a leading platform to showcase their talent and enhance their fan base. It further facilitated Harley-Davidson to connect with a larger base of Harley enthusiasts establishing the brand’s true lifestyle and culture which would be incomplete without music.
