Haflong: Rail communication between New Haflong and Badarpur was disrupted for hours due to derailment of goods train at Dittokcherra this morning at 5.40 am.

Railway official rushed to the spot immediately after the accident. Track and sleepers were damaged due to dragging.

Many passengers had to cancel their journey as there were no proper information intimated by the railway staff at New Haflong.

However, the rail communication was restored at 9.30 am and the running of trains continued. As the phone connection was dead, proper communication was disturbed.
