DHL showcases ‘Future of Fashion’ at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2011

Mumbai: DHL will be presenting ‘Future of Fashion’ at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2011. Partnering with cutting edge designers Atsu and Kallol Datta, DHL will demonstrate its expertise as a trade facilitator for the fashion industry.

Through more than 50 years in fashion, DHL has provided speedy response and convenient delivery that the industry demands. The designs by Atsu and Kallol will be inspired by the attributes of DHL focusing on speed, vibrancy and precision. The brand colours will see prominence and the designs will have a good balance keeping in mind the trends that will unfold in the months to come.

Both Atsu and Kallol are designers with a flair for subtlety vis-à-vis details and patterns. Kallol is based in Kolkata whilst Atsu’s design house is in Delhi. Atsu has showcased his latest spring/summer 2010 collection at Milan Fashion Week. This synergy is aimed at setting the pace for Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2011.

Having graduated from NIFT in 2001, Atsu apprenticed with Tarun Tahiliani and Spanish high street brand Zara for a couple of years before launching is eponymous label ‘ATSU’ in late 2006. Since his 2007 spring/summer debut, the brand has grown immensely and received wide accolade domestically. Primarily known for his chic, feminine and understated clothing line Atsu’s line has evolved into a complete ready-to-wear collection which firmly holds his signature style and modern adaptation to classic silhouettes.

Kallol graduated in womenswear from Central St. Martins in 2006, preceded by a Fashion Design degree from NIFT. Since he loved working 9 to 9, Kallol Datta 1955 was showcased in October 2007. Winner of numerous awards, Kallol uses his label as a front for gauging people’s moods.

Both Atsu and Kallol retail at stores spread across the country.
