Digital India Mission through its many path breaking initiatives made India the major winner of the digital era. Aadhar, UPI, COWIN, Digi Locker, UMANG, Diksha, e-SANJEEVANI – the list goes on of digital initiatives that have improved ease of living for over a billion people. Countries around the globe have lessons to learn on how a revolution was brought about by JAM trinity in enhancing the public service delivery system in India, how CoWIN App drove India’s vaccination campaign at a scale unmatched by any country that India has vaccinated 90% of its adult population.

A nation that believes in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is now sharing these stories to the global family through a repository called  ‘indiastack.global’ that contains details of India’s digital initiatives.

Moreover, this move will also help position our nation as the world leader in building Digital Transformation projects. The portal was launched on the occasion of Digital India Week 2022 centered around the theme ‘Catalyzing New India’s Techade’. The three day event will showcase India’s technological prowess to the global audience, explore collaboration and business opportunities with a wide range of stakeholders, and present the Techade of opportunities for NextGen.  A Digital Mela is also being organised with over 200 stalls that will showcase digital solutions made in the country.

As far as the Digital India Mission is concerned, the mission has improved government efficiency, accountability, and transparency manifold. The UMANG App brought many government departments and their services on one platform.

Currently, India holds the top spot in digital payments as a result of its successful digital payments ecosystem. Declining data cost and increasing internet connectivity ramped up the scale of this ecosystem. Integration of 40 Digital Health Services with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission had made headlines recently. Over 5 billion document issues have happened through the DigiLocker app that has rendered carrying physical documents an old practice.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 4 announced the first cohort of 30 institutions to be supported under the Chips to Startup (C2S) Programme. This program will boost the startup and academic ecosystem related to semiconductor chip designing.

India, the victim of backwardness in technology adoption during the Third Industrial Revolution is guiding the world in the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0), said PM Modi. The Prime Minister reminded that under Direct Benefit Transfer, more than 23 lakh crore rupees have been directly transferred in the accounts of the beneficiaries. Long queues for birth certificates, bill payment, ration, admissions, result and banks are all old stories.

‘Digital India Bhashini’ enabling easy access to the internet and digital services in Indian languages, ‘Digital India GENESIS’ a deep tech startup platform and ‘MyScheme’ a one stop solution for the public to find schemes relevant to them was launched on the day.
