Haflong  : A massive cleanliness followed by plantation drive was organized by the Dima Hasao forest department with the initiative of Chief conservator of forest, Dima Hasao Sri M Tungmung at Haflong on Thursday.

In the morning all the staffs of different forest divisions like SA division, East and West division including DFOs like Ramen Das, N. Jeme and T. Langthasa took part in the massive cleanliness drive in the Sambudan Phonglo and Joya Thousen memorial parks, this was followed by a massive plantation by all the dignitaries including CCF, DFOs, and rangers and also by the members of Haflong Press Club.

This program is to bring awareness about the conservation of environment, wildlife etc. among the forest officials apart from public. Mention may be made here that it is the only beautiful park spread over seven hectares of land in the heart of the Haflong town was the main attraction of tourist coming from various parts of the states.

It is to be mentioned here that the queen town Haflong, the district headquarters of Dima Hasao has been considered as the most beautiful town in and around the locality therefore it requires a special attention from the management as well as the public to keep this township neat and clean.
