  • Dima Hasao police claims no hand of insurgents in burning of trucks near Langting

    Haflong : The Dima Hasao police claimed that there was no hand of any insurgents in the incident of burning of log laden truck near Langting rather it was a handy work of a gang of armed criminals who wanted to extort money creating fear psychosis among the people.

    Pusparaj Sing, IPS, Addl SP Dima Hasao in an interview said that on December 7th the Langting police station received information regarding the burning of log laden trucks in deep jungle  about 40 km from Langting .Accordingly the police team rushed to the spot wherein four burnt trucks were found. Police launched search operation but the place being terrain and also bordering with Karbi Anglong, the culprits could not be apprehended. He also disclosed that an armed gang of criminals belonging to various communities was involved not any insurgent group.

    When the manager of a saw mill contacted he said that two trucks belonging to their mill have been burnt down. Nothing more known to him he added.
